Downhill skiing and snowboard lovers have the use of the ski resort Špičák (1202 m above sea level) in immediate proximity to the hotel. It is also possible to use for skiing the ski resort Velký Javor (1456 m above sea level). Both resorts have race cources of various difficulties, They are  equipped with snow cannons and have the homologation FIS for organizing word championships.

Other opportunities of skiing are on a slope from Pancíř Mountain, where you can get by a chair lift, and in Železná Ruda, where it is possible to ski in the evening on a lit ski slope. There are well-kept ski runs for cross-country skiing in the whole resort reaching plateau and ridge parts joining cross-country skiing centres with faraway Šumava parts near the state border. There can be also used well-kept runs on the German side in the Bavarian Forest.

In summer the hotel is the ideal starting point for hiking. Nearby Black Lake is the largest glacial lake in the Czech Republic.  The beautiful skenery can be seen from the mountain ridge Pancíř – Prenet where it is possible to go by a chair lift. In the clear sky the Alps can be even seen. Most of tourist paths are kept well and the Šumava hills are rounded so hiking in the countryside is suitable for elderly people as well as families with children. Interested people in cycling can use marked cycle tracks and the equipment for this kind of sport can be rented there.
